I recovered.
You can too.
I’m Kirsty May. A lover of travel, performing, and coffee dates with family and friends.
For many years I felt completely stuck. My eating disordered behaviours had become so ingrained, they felt automatic, and I struggled to believe there was a way out.
The truth is, recovery is possible for everyone, including you, and I am committed to helping you on your own journey to healing. I recognise that recovery is difficult, that it is not linear, and that each person’s circumstances are unique.
I provide a safe and non-judgemental approach, helping you understand your roadblocks as well as your levels of motivation, patience, and hope.
Everyone deserves support and compassion, regardless of how ‘sick’ they are. In the words of Ben Howard in one of my favourite songs: “Keep your head up, keep your heart strong”
Because there is hope.
My Training
I was personally trained and certified as an eating disorder recovery coach by Carolyn Costin who founded the Carolyn Costin Institute (CCI) in 2016.
The CCI eating disorder coaching curriculum is a comprehensive course containing 12 modules, a final exam, extensive scenario-based assignments, and a supervised internship.
Carolyn Costin is a world renowned, highly sought after eating disorder clinician, international speaker, researcher, and author. Carolyn founded Monte Nido, the first eating disorder residential facility in the USA.
You can find more about Carolyn's background and ethos here.
Do you work with children?
I provide coaching support for adolescents and have the required PVG checks in place. In these instances I also work with the parents/carers. I do not work with anyone younger than 12 years old. Please contact me to discuss the unique circumstances.
Do you provide support to loved ones?
Absolutely! I can coach parents, partners and friends on how to better support their children/loved ones struggling with eating disorder behaviours.
I’m not sure if I have an eating disorder. What do I do?
Check out the resources page for eating disorder support websites which give further detail on getting help.
I’d also recommend you chat to your doctor about your concerns.
Finally, I’m happy to have a quick call with you to see if coaching would be appropriate. Everyone deserves the right level of support. Often the quicker disordered eating is acknowledged, the easier it can be to work through.
What other services do you provide?
I work with schools, churches and organisations to raise awareness of a range of topics. These include: eating disorder awareness workshops, exploring strategies for body acceptance, cultivating a healthy relationship with food, exercise and so much more. Please email me at info@mayyoumend.com if you are interested in setting something up.
How much do you charge?
I offer two payment models. Pay as you go coaching, or discounted coaching packages. Please email me at info@mayyoumend.com to receive the options.
